The Quddama family
  1. [Abul `Abbas] Ahmad b. Quddama (d. 558)
  2. father of Abu `Umar (d.  H.) and
  3. [Abu Muhammad] Muwaffaq al-Din Ibn Quddamah (b. 541 in Nablus - d. 620 in Salihiyya)

  4. Al-Hafidh Abdul-Ghani, paternal cousin of Muwaffaq, who accompanied him on his first jouney to Baghdad

Origin of Salihiyya:

The family emigrated to Damascus, where they originally settled near Bab Al-Sharqi, and after two years moved to Qasyoun mountain in an area now known as Muhya Din, but originally name Salihiya after the salihin of Bani Qudamah that lived there.

Ahmad Quddama fled the franks fin al-Quds for the sake of the Din and settled in Abu Salih's mosque outside Bab Sharqi, then climbed up and settled at the foot of Qasiun. The area is called Salihiyyah after them. [ZaSh, p. 110:f1]
